Yesterday was an exciting day for everyone at The Song School and Project Southchurch. Southend City Radio was invited along to hear more about a new project to record, produce and release an original song inspired by and as part of the hands together project.
Rob McAvoy, co-founder of Project Southchurch spoke to us about the formation and aims of their organisation within the Southchurch area and across Southend including a variety of exciting events Project Southchurch are organising this year.
Louisa Strachan spoke to us about why she formed The Song School, how it aims to create a community and support for young musicians of all backgrounds to make music more accessible for all. Plus a little more about the hands together project and their collaboration with Project Southchurch.
We also talked to Karen Mitchell, director of art, creative and community development at Project Southchurch who is organising this the Southchurch Art Trail taking place in September.
