Yesterday Southend City Football Club played their first game in their new home ground for this season.
In a tough friendly match against Epping Town. City’s manager L’Heureux Menga fielded a side of players trialing for spots in the new team and was keen to try out some new formations, experimenting with the style of play throughout the game.
Although the score line didn’t reflect City’s performance, it was good to see some more exciting spells of attacking football, some solid tackles and even a few goals for the home side.
