Europe’s largest street art festival returns to Southend!

With well over 200 street artists descending upon the city, this year’s event is set to be larger than ever.

Over three jam-packed days, this year’s festival will feature 100 painted walls, pop-up cubes and over 24 artists doing their thing LIVE at a pop-ip park in the high street.

In the 1980s, the city of Southend had a rich collection of talented graffiti artists and quickly become a sub cultural hub of graffiti, that more recently morphed into the street art scene. Southend City Jam is organised by Southend-on-Sea City Council and Southend Tourism Partnership, alongside local artists Karl Sims and Steve Hart to showcase the best that the urban art movement has to offer from around the world, enhancing and enriching the lives of residents and visitors.

Each year local, national and international street artists transform a number of permanent and temporary walls around the City Centre and Seafront. From the sides of buildings, to temporary walls, no surface is safe and this year, Southend City Jam is heading out to sea with a new wall on the pier!

The festival wouldn’t be possible without many of the sponsors and volunteers as well as the artists
