The Farke Knight Rises CFC take on Adventure Island’s Stockvale United in charity fundraiser this weekend

In a few days time Lee Clark will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in an effort to raise funds for Against Breast Cancer. We caught up to see how fundraising and training was going ahead of the climb and to hear all about a charity football match kicking off this weekend.

On Sunday The Farke Knight Rises CFC take on Adventure Island’s Stockvale United to raise money for Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation, Spotlight Appeal and Against Breast Cancer.

These two teams have played each other in charity matches before, having already raised over £3,000 after their previous three fixtures and last time they played at Southend United’s Roots Hall. This time the charity match is raising funds for Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation, Spotlight Appeal and Against Breast Cancer and will take place at Goals Southend.

The Farke Knight Rises CFC were established in 2019 as a way to boost charitable donations for good causes. Based in Southend-on-Sea, The Farke Knights raise money for many different charities by organising charity social events and competitions and engage the local communities through their football team, creating memories for everyone along the way.

Stockvale United was formed in 2022, following our very first charity match against The Farke Knights. Stockvale  is made up of Stockvale employees who have all worked together in some shape or form. Ranging from rides hosts, to managers, to members of the maintenance team to aquarists, this team is a mixed bag of great people who love playing football, and love raising money for charity!

Lee is aiming to raise £20,000 for Against Breast Cancer in climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and is only just over £160 away from his target – an outstanding achievement from a true local hero!
