Yesterday saw the launch of Southend’s new business hub as the Launchpad soared to new heights with the “Launchpad in Orbit” business showcase.
Through the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) Local Growth Fund, Southend City Council has invested over £23 million pounds into the Launchpad project to create a new sustainable business innovation centre, boosting the local economy by supporting innovation in and around Airport Business Park.
Local support services, local authority representatives, higher education partners, local businesses and entrepreneurs, including those based at Launchpad, gathered to demonstrate their innovation and ambition.
During the event, we spoke with Jacqui Stimpson, Business Growth Manager at Launchpad to find out more about the new hub, how they’re already fostering a thriving business community and why Southend Launchpad marks an exciting new beginning for business in Southend.
