A few weeks ago we embarked on our mission to showcase musical talent and the many awesome venues supporting our local community. This week we continue our quest with another instalment of Southend City Radio LIVE on our Candlelight Acoustic Night Tour.
Every Sunday night we’ll be hosting an open mic night at a venue near you and recording the whole thing… LIVE!
As we tour the local area, visiting all the best venues on our way, we’re excited to bring the magic of live music, captured on our doorstep and broadcast to your radio.
In this stop on the Candlelight Acoustic Night Tour, we set up camp in The Miley, Rochford and witnessed some truly remarkable moments including a spontaneous drum duet featuring two drummers who had never met before they got on stage, a musical jam in which Heidi J Masters improvised her own song lyrics over Mark Hardy’s unplanned, freestyle fretwork on the guitar plus an exclusive debut performance from The Candlelight Kids!
We recorded the whole thing exclusively for Southend City Radio LIVE and you can hear it all here…
There’s always something fun happening at The Miley in Rochford; Saturday 4th is 80’s night with Mando’s Laura and 25th November is Bandoakey where the audience can choose songs instead of singing with backing tracks then sing with a full band. in December The Miley will host several local bands and musicians including Borderline on 1st, BORN WILD on 15th, The Bad Cadellacs on 16th, The Blarneys on 23rd and Aaron Kelly on 29th.
PLUS The Candlelight Acoustic Night Tour will return to The Miley, Rochford from 1pm on Christmas Eve for a special festive performance featuring the Candlelight Kids!
The Candlelight Acoustic Night with Southend City Radio Live Open Mic Tour will continue next week as we record our live event from The Cobham Hotel from 7-9pm. See you there! …and if you miss it, catch up here on Monday!
