“Let HER MUSIC Play” represents a distinctive celebration transcending music genres, embracing artists from classical to contemporary, jazz, pop, folk, and beyond. Gabriella Di Laccio, founder of Donne and the driving force behind this initiative, shares her passion: “As a woman in music and an artist myself, I am fully committed to fundamentally transforming the music industry, ensuring my role actively contributes to meaningful change.  This event is my way of trying to connect people around the world to join me on this cause.”

Claire Geveaux CEO of Culture Chelmsford and Presenter of The Arts Programme on Phoenix FM believes the concert is a great opportunity to inspire change. “Organising a record breaking attempt is no mean feat and this one is important because we still haven’t moved the dial nearly far enough to have equity in music for women and nonbinary composers or songwriters. This campaign sheds light on the fact that still, in 2024, almost 9/10 compositions played by orchestras around the world are written by white men. All the music played over the next 24 hours is by women or nonbinary composers and songwriters. What a change that would be to every concert hall in the world, every music exam ever taken, every degree course ever studied if music from women and nonbinary composers was equal to music composed by men. We’re asking everyone to be the change by joining in this record breaking attempt.”
