A few weeks ago, we had the BEST time visiting Chalkwell Hall Junior School. The day began with a school assembly about the history of radio. Then, with the help of Miss Sadler we invited groups of children in to our pop-up radio studio.
Throughout the day the children created the first ever Chalkwell Hall Junior School radio show!
We trained up some of the youngest ever radio producers and presenters to deliver their own school news bulletins from school groups. The children picked the music and gave some of the sweetest shoutouts you’ll ever hear on the radio plus we were even treated to a very special performance from the school choir!

It was so much fun to bring the excitement of radio to the school and a joy to work with all the children and staff at Chalkwell Hall Junior School too.
Thank you to everyone involved for helping us to create this show and well done to all of our budding radio stars!

This show was hosted by Stewart Pink and produced as part of Southend City Radio School in collaboration with Chalkwell Hall Junior School.
