EasyJet launches new base, bringing 20 new flights, 3 new planes and over 140 jobs to Southend Airport

EasyJet has officially launched its new base at Southend Airport, marking a significant boost for regional connectivity and job creation. The move sees three new aircraft stationed at Southend, opening up 20 new travel destinations for passengers.

The airline’s investment brings a welcome economic uplift to the area, generating 140 new jobs. Additionally, the aircraft introduced are 50% quieter than older models and burn 13% less fuel, aligning with EasyJet’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

Passengers can now take advantage of an expanded network of routes, making Southend a key hub for international travel. The launch event was attended by key figures in the aviation industry and government, highlighting the importance of this expansion.
